The game world

The Redmaple Reach

A thousand lakes strung together by portage trails, under granite ridges and the reddest maples in the North. Nobody has mapped all of it, and every season brings new promotions for the crews who push furthest.

Illustrated map view of the Redmaple Reach: granite peaks to the north, a lake with islands and a canoe, a dashed portage trail between two lakes and a campsite with a tent and campfire under red maples
  1. N 1

    Granite Spine

Bare peaks above the treeline where you spot the next lake before anyone else and pin it to the map.

  2. E 2

    Loonsong Lake

A wide, calm lake dotted with islands. Mist at dawn, loons at dusk and the best fishing in the Reach.

  3. S 3

    Old Cedar Portage

A muddy, root-tangled trail between two lakes. Carry the canoe together or nobody gets across.

  4. W 4

    Kettle Falls Camp

The crew’s base under the reddest maples: a fire ring, a drying line and a trading post that never closes.

Meet the crew

Three seats in the canoe

A mapper, a navigator and a cook. Bring friends to fill the seats, or let the crew paddle with you.

Pip, a small striped chipmunk in a red bandana, holding a rolled map under one arm and smiling

Cartographer · eastern chipmunk

Pip

Pip never travels without a rolled map and a stub of pencil. Every bay you round and every trail you clear ends up in her sketches, and she shares them with the whole crew.

  • Carries: rolled map, pencil
  • Wears: red bandana
  • Crew skill: reveals hidden portages
Marlow, a black-and-white chequered loon with a red eye and a white captain’s cap, holding a wooden paddle

Navigator · common loon

Marlow

Marlow reads wind on the water like a book. He calls the strokes from the stern, finds the fastest line across any lake and has never once lost his captain’s cap overboard.

  • Carries: cedar paddle
  • Wears: captain’s cap
  • Crew skill: faster lake crossings
Juniper, a black bear with a tan muzzle and a huge orange backpack, holding a steaming blue enamel mug

Camp cook · black bear

Juniper

Juniper hauls the biggest backpack in the Reach and somehow still has room for blueberry bannock. Her fire keeps the crew warm, fed and ready for the next portage.

  • Carries: enormous backpack
  • Holds: enamel mug of cocoa
  • Crew skill: camp meals restore energy

Features

Earn every badge in the Reach

  • Co-op canoe crews

Paddle with up to three friends. Bow sets the pace, stern steers, and everyone shares the map you make together.

  • Draw your own map

The Reach starts blank. Chart shorelines, name islands and mark campsites; your atlas grows with every trip.

  • Portages and peaks

Carry the canoe over rocky trails, climb lookouts and find routes that cut a whole day off a crossing.

  • Build a camp

Pitch tents, cook over the fire and upgrade your base at Kettle Falls with gear you earn on the trail.

  • Wildlife journal

Spot moose, herons and foxes, sketch them in your journal and complete pages for seasonal prizes.

  • No download

Play in the browser on phone, tablet or computer. Sign in with the same email and pick up where you left off.

  • The map-making is addictive

I spent a whole evening naming islands on Loonsong Lake with my brother. Seeing our atlas fill in is the best part of every trip.

  • Juniper’s camp is so cosy

Rain on the tarp, bannock on the fire, my friends arguing about which portage to take next. It’s the most relaxing co-op game I own.

  • Portages are a real team job

You genuinely need everyone lifting together on Old Cedar. Chaotic and funny. I’d like a few more solo routes for quiet nights.

  • Marlow is the MVP

With Marlow in the stern we crossed the big lake before the storm hit. That little cap stays on through everything.

  • Gorgeous autumn colours

The red maples over the water at sunset look unreal. Phones get a bit warm on the busiest lakes but it runs well otherwise.

  • My kids and I play together

Nothing scary, lots to discover, and everyone has a job in the canoe. The wildlife journal keeps my youngest busy for ages.

  • Wants more peaks

Loved the lakes, but the Granite Spine felt short in the beta. Hoping launch adds more lookouts and longer climbs.
